last week of July

It is amazing to state but my foot hardly hurts at all anymore, only when I put on a shoe that is a little tight across the toe box. Even hit some golf balls without pain this week, but my swing, that's another thing. going to go out and try again Sat.

saw the podiatrist

Went to see my old buddy Dr. Joel Wilner on Tuesday 7/20 and sure enough, toes are/were broken. You can see on the x-ray where the weight struck my left foot and rolled across the toes and where the toes were broken and yes, the little left pinky toe still has a nice straight line across, no wonder my foot hurts sometimes.

asked the doctor about treatment and I think I followed the correct instincts by not going in earlier - he would have put me in one of those walking boots and then everyone would want to know what happened, etc.

asked the golf pro about rolling out on the side of my foot on the swing and he said that was normal, not to worry.

actually, it hurts less this week than any other week so far but ironically it is hurting right now.

4th of July deadline looms

When I dropped the weight plate on my foot I gave myself to July 4, telling myself I would be 100% by that time. Wish I was right. Now I have to decide to "soldier on" or to go to a doctor and have the foot inspected. Still hurts on the left pinky toe side of my foot, pinky toe still swollen and difficult to accomodate sandals and dressy shoes. What to do?

Had a great golf lesson this week, now the test will be on the course, will I be able to execute the instructions or fall back into bad habit? Playing at Aggie Golf on the 4th, will be a long and hot round!
